LEXER RESEARCH. Inc has been developing a cloud service together with its business partners, Fraunhofer IPAand Virtual Fort Knox, as part of its efforts to achieve digital transformation and Industry 4.0 in Germanmanufacturing. This cloud service is based on LEXER RESEARCH ‘s production system simulator “GD.findi” andand has been featured in “Cloud Mall,” an initiative by the government of Baden-Württemberg to promote cloudtechnology.

LEXER RESEARCH. Inc has been working with Fraunhofer IPA since 2018 to provide LEXER RESEARCH’sproduction system simulator “GD.findi” to support Virtual Fort Knox. Virtual Fort Knox is a cloud platform developedby the Fraunhofer IPA to realize Industry 4.0.

The purpose of this project is to integrate Virtual Fort Knox’s technology and GD.findi with the ManufacturingService Bus (MSB), a software integration service, to realize optimized daily production planning simulation anddigital real-time PDCA cycle.

The cloud service being developed in this project introduced in the “Cloud Mall”, an initiative by the government ofBaden-Württemberg to promote cloud technology. (https://cloud-mall-bw.de/praxispiloten/) This cloud service runs onVirtual Fort Knox’s cloud platform with GD.findi as the internal optimization engine and works with actual facilities.

As a cloud service for a manufacturing industry that combines LEXER RESEARCH’s simulation technology with theGerman public cloud platform, we will contribute to achieve Industry 4.0 and introduce cyber-physical systems to themanufacturing industry in Germany.
